Elements Interactive and Pocketmotion announce partnership
Published: February 10, 2006
Elements Interactive B.V., the Dutch development company behind the Edge
multi-platform mobile game engine, and Australia based Pocketmotion,
manufacturer of the TiltCONTROL motion detection device, agreed on a partnership
to add TiltCONTROL support in an upcoming release of the Edge SDK.
Pocketmotion, formerly named ECER Technology, provides hardware devices and
software for consumers that allow Windows Mobile Pocket PC's and Smartphones to
detect physical motion of their mobile device. These devices and software
provide them with the ability to control their device with movement.
"The TiltCONTROL device is an innovative and great way of adding control to
mobile games," says Danny Hoffman, Elements Interactive CEO. "Adding support for
TiltCONTROL into Edge fits in our strategy of keeping Edge the most powerful and
feature-rich mobile game engine around."
Pocketmotion CEO Michael Josefski adds: "The merging of the TiltCONTROL and
Edge SDK's is going to significantly reduce the effort involved in TiltCONTROL
enabling games, for developers. We are looking forward to seeing some innovative
ideas come out of the game development community."
The Edge SDK, with current version 2.30, supports multi-platform development
of mobile games for Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Windows Mobile Smartphone, Symbian
Series 60, Symbian Series 80, Symbian Series 90, Symbian UIQ and Windows
desktop. Key features of the Edge SDK include true multi-platform development,
high-performance graphics, RGBA surfaces and PNG support, 3D graphics, both
Bluetooth and TCP/IP network support and support for Windows Mobile 5.0 and
DirectX.
